United Water New Jersey - Haworth Water Treatment Plant - Raw Water Pumping Station

BS&J designed and is providing engineering services during construction for the replacement of one nominal 13 MGD raw water (RW) vertical turbine pumping unit with a new 43 MGD unit.  The project includes the addition of two variable frequency drives (VFDs) for the new pump and for one existing RW pump.  Design challenges included locating the two VFDs, providing ventilation, and fitting the new pump and motor in the available space (the new motor is lighter but larger).
